hey you guys..

there is a -paid- musical gig up here that i'd like to offer any solo or duo musicians that might care to travel to perham... (about 170 miles - 3.5 hours away from mpls.)  it's at a tiny local faire up here put on by the historical society.  any traditional or folk type, acoustic music would work.  we don't really have a "time period" per se.. it's a "heritage festival", and we've not even specified any particular heritage, but i'm sure that modern pop/rock wouldn't quite fit the bill.

the one problem that might conflict for some of you is that it's on august 16th... yes, the same day as the first day of the MN ren faire.  however, the pay is $300, and the only requirement is two sets of music (one hour each) on a stage, and maybe a little bit of wandering musician stuff for atmosphere, depending on the weather.  you might be playing once in the festival and once in town... i'm not sure on that one.

i'm sure we could work out some accommodations for anyone that wanted to come up the friday before the show, and saturday the 16th will end fairly early, so the trip back to the cities wouldn't be too bad.

lemme know if'n anybody out there is interested.  this offer goes out to pretty much anyone that can entertain with an hours worth of material.  if you know someone not on lj that might be interested in picking up a little extra cash, pass the word.

so, i'm looking for some old, ratty, costumy bits for a couple toys i'm building for faire... i figure this is the best place to start looking.

i was wondering if anyone out there has a pair or two of old minnetonka moccs that can't be worn anymore... i need three pairs... or more if they're out there.  i'm talking about ratty, dirty boots with holes in them that you just haven't gotten around to throwing away yet.

i'm also collecting a few old, worn out peasant pants, shirts and hats.  i got some castoffs from the costume shop, but i'll need more to finish the projects.

i don't really care what size they are, or color, or style.  like i said, i'm building a couple toys for the peasants to play with this year, and i was trying to save a little work and cash by recycling.  i'll pro'lly be hitting thrift shoppes and garage sales soon, but "peasant clothes" and especially boots are harder to find for cheap.

if y'all have some parts you'd like to donate to the cause, i'd love you forever if you could set them aside for me.  i'll most likely be in the cities off and on over the next few months, so i could try to coordinate with you to nab them at your convenience... or, i suppose i could grab them at faire too, but i was hoping to do some of the building before faire starts.

also, if you have suggestions on where else i could look, or if you could spread the word to those not on my LJ list, i'd once again love you forever.  as you can see, "forever love" is going pretty cheap this year. *grin*  i don't have access to any of the festival listserves anymore, and i'm not sure how to do a mass request anywhere else.

thanks muchly!

a friend of mine got tired of dating disappointments.... so she's created a boyfriend application... funny as hell.  i was gonna just repost it here, but then i realized it might earn me some disturbing returns, so i'll try to post the address of it... see if this works.

i know there's been alot of heartache out there in LJland, perhaps this whole application process is a way to go!  it may not be practical, but it sure it entertaining, and since people rarely come with instructions, disclaimers, or return receipts... *shrug*.

enjoy.

hello all you wonderful people... i know it's been a while, prolly gonna be a while more 'cause i'm just now starting to piece together what the hell happened over the last few months.  *shrug*

y'all know i've never had much faith in technology before, but it's now dropped to yet another low.  i have proof that i'm not receiving e-mails.... again.  i hate computers.

anyway, if any of you in LJ land had sent me anything i hadn't responded to, that's most likely why.  the spam always comes thru, and i do see some messages... but when someone calls me to ask what i thought of something they replied to weeks ago... never saw it... what the hell... computers friggin blow!

how can it be so gorram selective?  just the stuff i'd actually want or need to see gets lost, but the barrister of papua new guinea can always reach to me for special offer of ten thousand american monies if i would be so kind as give him prompt assistance?  seriously... W.T.F?!?!?

so, sorry to rant.  just wanted to let y'all know that my e-mail blows and can't be trusted.... again.

i've been amused that when i enter my location as "the orange chair" there's a link to google maps and a place in cincinnati, OH.  i followed it...a'cause i'm bored, and it's a chair design place... cool chairs too.

not that anyone cares, i just found it entertaining.
